To introduce ourselves we are Stephen and Kim Sargeant and have been involved with Bull Terriers since 1993. Our affix (breed name) is DRAYDUR. Our first dog TAZ was a son of CH Kilacabar Rolling Thunder (Baldrick) bred by Chris and Carol Kilpatrick (Kilacabar) and owned by Carl and Pam Lummis (Maplark). Baldrick was a great ambassador of the breed and remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with him. Just like Baldrick, Taz was a gentle giant with an impeccable temperament. We had a great time showing Taz and he always did well within the show ring, winning lots of rosettes and trophies.
Our second dog was Pebbles who we bought hoping to show. Unfortunately Pebbles ears never came up and we were unable to show her. Pebbles was also unable to reproduce. Once in our home no Bull Terrier is moved on, as they are all predominately family pets. Pebbles and Taz became great friends and lived happily together in our home until the end of their lives. We sadly lost Taz in December 2006 and Pebbles in January 2007. They are both still sadly missed, but we have some great memories and they will always remain in our hearts. Taz will hopefully remain in our blood line forever. As Taz is Grandad/Gt Grandad to most the dogs we own at present.
In 1999 we bred Taz with a Maplark bitch called Bramble and produced our first litter. From this litter we kept Bracken, but tragically lost Bracken to a terrible accident when she was 18 months old. Bracken will remain in our hearts forever.
Having stayed in touch will the owners of all Brackens litter mates, we had become very good friends with Andy and Kathie, who we had sold Bracken's litter sister Kira. We also had some show success with Kira. Not wanting to loose our blood line of healthy animals with excellent temperaments. Andy and Kathie agreed, with our help and choice of stud dog to have a litter from Kira so that our line could continue. So arrived Gypsy and Nala to the household who were Taz's granddaughters.
At the same time as Gypsy and Nala's arrival we also had another arrival in the birth of our daughter Mackenzie. Mackenzie has been fortunate to have spent all of her life surrounded by loving Bull Terriers who have shown nothing but excellent temperaments when in her company. Mackenzie has also been taught from an early age how to handle Bull Terriers and enjoys nothing better than sitting on the settee with her best friends, watching cartoons.
We eventually bred Gypsy and Nala to continue our line and therefore produced our next line of Bull Terriers. From these litters we kept Scooby, Daphnee and Spud. We will hopefully be planning a litter with Daphnee sometime in the future. We will also have Scooby to use as a future stud dog if suitable. This gives us great confidence for the future of Draydur Bull Terriers.
